Dahlia Hassan is a proud Egyptian woman from Cairo, born in 1974
to Egyptian parents. As a Cancer, she embodies the elegance, charm, and talent
often associated with this creative and beauty-loving zodiac sign.
Dahlia pursued her education at the esteemed French school
Saint-Jean Antide in the historic district of Al-Daher, near Sakakini Palace.
She then attended Ain Shams University, where she graduated from the Faculty of
Arts with a degree in French Literature, achieving high honors in 1999.
Fluent in French and English, she also holds a deep love for her
native Egyptian Arabic.
In the same year she graduated, she began her journey in tourism
and hospitality, progressing over 15 years in major Egyptian tourism companies
such as Aton Travel, Davidoff, Turkish Airlines, and Travco, eventually earning
the title "Queen of Turkish and French Tours." Despite her successful
career, Dahlia always harbored an unwavering passion for Egyptian heritage and
handicrafts.
She was captivated by the creativity of Egyptian artisans in the
streets of Al-Muizz and Khan El-Khalili, enchanted by the craftsmanship in
copper, stained glass, leather, and the art of khayamiya, especially during the
beautiful nights of Ramadan.
In 2013, Dahlia made the bold decision to leave her career in
tourism to dedicate herself to her passion for design and the revival of
Egyptian heritage. Her vision was clear: to blend the rich, ancient heritage of
Egypt with elegant contemporary touches, creating fashion that reflects
authentic Egyptian culture in a modern way that suits Arab women for all
occasions.
Her journey led her to explore the stories behind fashion in every
Egyptian street, neighborhood, seeking the legacies of each governorate, from
the Bedouin to Siwa, from the countryside to Upper Egypt, and from the coast to
the desert and beyond.
From this passion, “Yashmak” brand was born, with its first
collection launched during Ramadan 2013. And over the past ten years, Dahlia
has presented unique designs with a modern heritage flair, establishing
“Yashmak” as one of the leading names in elegant heritage fashion. The brand
has spread across Arab markets, including Saudi Arabia, Libya, Iraq, Jordan,
Palestine, and the United States, with ambitions for global expansion, aiming
to become a prominent name in the world of heritage fashion.
Each “Yashmak” product is crafted by skilled Egyptian hands, using
materials sourced from India, Korea, and Syria. The designs feature elements
such as copper, mother-of-pearl, colored wood, crystals, agate, and natural
pearls, ensuring that our products endure for generations.
